    Fred Thompson’s paintings evoke dreamy days spent at the ocean’s edge. Working in acrylic on canvas, he redefines the coastal colour palette to bring fresh depth and energy to familiar settings, and intimacy to unknown subjects.

  • FLINDERS ISLAND WATERCOLOUR ART RETREAT

    DATES AVAILABLE SOON - OCTOBER 2025

    Flinders Island is a very unique place with so many opportunities to paint on site. I am happy for artist using other mediums to join us but I will be demonstrating using watercolours and potentially some mixed media.

    During this 7 day workshop you will learn all the basics of watercolour and paint approx. 1-2 paintings each day using different techniques. This will provide a special opportunity to explore the magic and vibrancy of watercolour painting with an award-winning artist.

I was fortunate to be invited to teach watercolour at the RBGF Craft Cottage recently.

What a joyous workshop you held today at Plant Craft Cottage!  Thank you so much for your dedicated care to ensure all our attendees were comfortable and happy.   You were so warm and engaging with the group – many thanks for supporting them all and extending their skillsets.  The works of both roses, morning and afternoon, were simply wonderful to see.
